Day Two of training of journalists and Media Professionals on Enhancing Rule of Law, Human Rights and Conflict Sensitive Reporting

Journalism is the activity of gathering, assessing, creating, and presenting news and information. It is also the product of these activities. When doing such activities one has be careful, especially in conflict raising areas. Journalism can bring many benefits in regard to information reporting but if not done properly it can also be misleading. This is where conflict sensitive reporting comes in. The media shapes the society one way or the other. Hence being careful while reporting conflict sensitive issues will minimize the aggravating agents for any further unnecessary conflicts.

As it is known CDCB has started giving out training for media professionals starting yesterday on Rule of Law, Human Right and Peace Building through media. In todays session a further discussion on Human Right and Rule of Law was held. Following that conflict sensitive   reporting solution journalism were discussed in detail. The participants has had a good discussion sessions and have shared their idea towards the topics as well. We hope to see a better reporting and peace building from media professionals.
